“Our kids grow up so fast. Don't let these memories slip away.”
It all started...
As a fun distraction while my husband went on deployment. I had newborn twins and my husband was away on pre-deployment training and then a deployment itself. That was my way to keep my mind sane. It was my distraction, something that I could really plan on in my daily "I don't know what to expect" routine.
I just started taking pictures on my phone every month of the girls. 1 month, 2 months, 3 months... until they turned one. One holiday here, another one there...
Then a few years later, another bun was in the oven and family and friends always asked me if I was going to do pictures again... I could not say no, because I did know that they were waiting for it, and also because I actually had a list of what I would do every month!
Pictures were expected
Our family and closest friends would anxiously wait and inquire about the pictures in the event I was taking too long to share those with them. Every 26th of every month and every 8th of every month was a day that you could be sure there would be pictures coming around.
I heard so many "you have a talent".
And I would say I don't know about talent, but sometimes my creativity goes far.
So here I am today
Taking my creativity to another level and trying to make it good enough to share with others and give them the same memories I have when I look at my kids' pictures.
The kids are not under 1 anymore, and I was left with what some would say there is "no reason" to take pictures anymore...
But I involuntarily keep brainstorming new fun ideas and ways to turn them into memories that will give lots of smiles and experiences to share. Also, there are always holidays to make it more fun.
Trust me, I know how much you want to hold on to every second
Kids today are expected to become responsible so early, to have a busy scheduled with learning and developing skills. The latest life routines made us forget that we, as children, learned by playing. We were children, developing brains and rational thinking by allowing our minds to travel planets and different worlds. To allow our imagination go anywhere and everywhere!
My pictures can bring a little bit of some fun imagination to the real world.
